The New York Imagination Society (founded in 2017) started as a gathering of like-minded individuals from the New York music scene. As we pivot to Nashville in 2022, we continue our mission of strengthening the artistic community and increasing collaboration.

From 2017-2020 NYIS partnered with the Ludlow House in New York to present a monthly concert series. Each month several artists performed a song from a theme curated in conjunction with the Ludlow House. Past themes have included The Brill Building, Quentin Tarantino Soundtracks, the music of 1984, and the productions of Rick Rubin. The house band consisted of a revolving cast of the top session and touring musicians based in NYC. The event was emceed by emerging comedians and radio personalities.

NYIS recorded NY rehearsals at Boomtown Studios, home of Chris Leon and Eric Elterman. These sessions provided an opportunity for established and emerging artists to document our collaborations in a studio setting. The NYIS is working with publishers, licensors, and streaming platforms to use these recordings to increase exposure for everyone involved.

In 2022, NYIS will be moving the monthly concert series to the Soho House Nashville. An eclectic mix of artists will perform one song each relating to a curated theme. “Queer Night," a celebration of Nashville-based LGBTQ+ artists co-presented with morgxn, will kick off the concert series on June 17.
